1. Who we are
This website is run by Ozedra Group ("Ozedra", "we", "us"), a business group based in Lusaka, Zambia, which includes Ozedra Technologies. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
For any privacy question or request, email hello@ozedra.com.
2. The short version
- This website has no contact forms, no user accounts and no advertising.
- We do not use cookies. We count visits with a privacy-friendly tool that does not identify you or follow you across other websites.
- If you email us, we use what you send only to reply and, if you become a client, to work with you.
- We never sell your personal information.
3. Information we collect
When you email us. If you write to hello@ozedra.com (for example by using a link on our contact page), we receive your name, email address, the content of your message and anything else you choose to include, such as a phone number, business name or attachments.
When you visit the website. Like almost every website, the servers that deliver our pages automatically receive basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time of the request. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use it to identify you.
Fonts. Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details.
Visitor statistics. We use Umami to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, which website or search brought people here, the type of device, browser and operating system, the country of the visit, and whether someone clicked an email link or one of our main buttons. Umami does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not build a profile of you, so these statistics do not tell us who you are.
4. Why we use it
- To read and reply to your enquiry.
- To prepare a quote or proposal you have asked for.
- To deliver work we have agreed with you, and to send related invoices and updates.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records we are required to keep by law.
- To keep the website running and secure.
- To see, in total, which pages and services interest visitors, so we can improve the website.
We process this information because you have chosen to contact us, because it is needed to take steps you have asked for before or under an agreement with us, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting our business. We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we will not add you to a marketing list without your consent.
5. Cookies
This website does not set cookies, and our visitor statistics (see section 3) work without them. We do not use advertising or tracking tools that follow you across other websites. If we add cookies or tools like these in future, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before they run.
6. Who receives your information
We use a small number of trusted service providers, who handle information on our behalf:
- Zoho, which hosts our email.
- GitHub, which hosts this website.
- Google, which provides the website's fonts.
- Umami, which provides our visitor statistics.
We may also share information with professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, or where the law requires it, for example to comply with a lawful request from a Zambian authority. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
7. Information stored outside Zambia
Our providers store information on servers outside Zambia, including in the United States. We choose established providers with published security and privacy commitments, and we take the steps required by Zambian law when information is transferred abroad.
8. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Client records: for as long as we work together, then for as long as Zambian tax and accounting law requires.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own policies.
- Visitor statistics: kept in Umami as totals, without anything that identifies you, for as long as our Umami plan stores them.
9. How we protect it
The website is served only over a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS), our email uses encrypted connections, and access to our mailboxes is limited to the people who need it. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
10. Your rights
Under Zambia's Data Protection Act, 2021, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, where we have no legal reason to keep it;
- stop or limit how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given.
To make a request, email hello@ozedra.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time allowed by law. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Zambia.
11. Children
This website is meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the way we handle information changes, for example if we add a contact form or cookies. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
